San Bruno Police identified the woman who opened fire at the YouTube campus Tuesday afternoon as Nasim Aghdam of Southern California, NBC Bay Area reported.
Aghdam died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound, San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini told reporters Tuesday.
Aghdam approached an outdoor patio and dining area at YouTube headquarters Tuesday afternoon, police said. Aghdam, who is believed to have been in her thirties, used a handgun in the attack.
She shot and injured at least three people, who were immediately sent to Bay Area hospitals for treatment. A fourth victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury. Police do not think the attack was an act of terrorism but believe it to be the result of a domestic dispute.
Employees report hearing gunshots on the campus and scrambling to get out of the building.
Some were live tweeting the attack Tuesday.
“Active shooter at YouTube HQ. Heard shots and saw people running while at my desk. Now barricaded inside a room with coworkers,” one YouTube employee tweeted.

I got evacuated outside with my hands up. I’m with other people. I don’t think the shooter’s been found that I know of. I saw blood drops on the stairs I walk up everusay. I’m shaking. This is surreal. I hope my colleagues are okay.

I am behind another building with colleagues. There are helicopters. There are lots of police nearby. I don’t know if the shooter has been found. If you hear they’ve been found, tell me. I’m safe for now, but don’t feel safe until they’ve been found.
