Johnny Manziel’s Wednesday got a bit crazier when he defended himself on Twitter after criticizing the Browns.

Manziel made comments on the “Dan Patrick Show” today about how the Browns didn’t properly research him enough to know how unprepared for the NFL he was. Seems like a brutally honest assessment.

Well, it didn’t take long to start circulating the web, and Manziel wasn’t having any of it. He fired off a string of tweets defending himself, and also taking responsibility for the disaster that went down in Cleveland.

You just knew this wasn’t going to end well. You knew the moment he made those comments that all hell was bound to break loose.

I understand exactly what he’s saying, and so do most people who understand sports. He’s not exactly speaking a foreign language. Manziel was a young QB who needed help, and he clearly never got it. That’s on both sides.

Instead of talking about the football progress on the field with the Texas A&M Heisman winner, we’re now busy talking about comments he made on the “Dan Patrick Show.” It’s distractions like these that are completely unnecessary and do nothing to help anybody.

Focus on where we’re at today on the field, and ignore the rest. It’s not difficult.
