The House Committee on Energy and Commerce released the text of Facebook Chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s prepared testimony Monday roughly 48 hours before the executive is set to appear before the committee Wednesday.
The Facebook executive is slated to appear before the Senate Judiciary and Commerce Committee Tuesday afternoon and the House committee Wednesday morning.
House and Senate lawmakers scheduled their respective hearings after news broke that a professor who created an app on Facebook provided British data firm Cambridge Analytica the data of reportedly 87 million Facebook users without their consent.
Facebook suspended Cambridge Analytica in late March for violating a contractual agreement that required the firm to remove certain pertinent user information collected through an app.
