The agency admits FBI agent Peter Strzok and bureau attorney Lisa Page still have top security clearances, Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul disclosed Wednesday in an FBI email to his office.
Paul wrote a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray in late January, expressing his concern two FBI officials, who have well reported bias against President Donald Trump, have access to “sensitive private information.”
The senator asked Wray if there were processes in place at the agency to ensure agents’ searches are not done for political purposes or to push personal agendas.

FBI Office of Congressional Affairs Assistant Director Gregory A. Bower responded to Paul’s inquiry March 30.
“All FBI employees must maintain a top security clearance” and the agency does not “reveal the specific accesses granted to particular employees,” the assistant director told Paul.
The release of information regarding access to and the specific search of FBI employees are constrained by law, Bower also said.
