“The View” cohost Joy Behar asked former FBI director James Comey on Wednesday if he suffers from “premature interpretations.”

Comey appeared on “The View” to discuss his new book, “A Higher Loyalty,” and the cohosts grilled him about his decision to provide the public with various updates on the Clinton email investigation.

Sunny Hostin noted that she used to work in the Justice Department and was taught that she was not supposed to comment on ongoing investigations.

“While I have always been such a fan of yours, quite frankly, I was surprised that you commented on the reopening of Clinton’s investigation because really that is against everything that I learned and that I believed in when I was at the Justice Department,” she said. “I didn’t understand it.”

Joy Behar seemed to agree with Hostin’s assessment and added, “When you opened it, then you closed it. You opened it, and then you closed it.”

“Is it fair to say you suffer from premature interpretations?” she joked.

Comey laughed at Behar’s play on words and asked, “Do I have to answer that?”
