President Donald Trump named NFL Patriots coach Bill Belichick to his “Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition,” Friday after signing an executive order in February to rebrand the organization.

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said he was surprised at how much time Trump spends on the phone with Belichick and said they have a close relationship, according to a New York Times report.

Trump will also be appointing golfer Natalie Gulbis, Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist Misty May-Treanor, retired New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera, retired NFL running back Herschel Walker, and Columbia hospital’s Dr. Mehmet Oz, according to Axios.

Belichick confirmed he’d written a letter in November 2016 supporting Trump’s presidential victory and bashing the “negative media.”
