Legacy media has painted the conflict on the Israeli-Gaza border as little more than a genocide of “mostly peaceful protesters” by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
The tens of thousands of Palestinians gathered on the border are anything but peaceful, however. The terrorist organization, Hamas, which controls Gaza, frequently uses civilians as a shield to carry out attacks, and its leader heavily encouraged residents to join in protest. Protester have attempted to plant explosives and repeatedly chanted, “Kill the Jews.” Meanwhile, The New York Times blamed the conflict on President Donald Trump’s decision to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
“We are excited to storm and get inside,” Mohammed Mansoura, 23, told The Washington Post, saying when he got inside, he would do “whatever is possible, to kill, throw stones.”
While some have criticized Israel’s response as disproportionate, the protests have gone on for weeks and continue to escalate. It won’t be clear whether Israel’s response is appropriate until the protests end, which is supposed to be May 15.
As it stands, tens of thousands of protesters are storming the Israeli border with a professed intent to kill.
