Democratic gubernatorial candidate and “Sex and the City” actress Cynthia Nixon trails current New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo by 27 percent in favorability among New York Democrats, according to a Siena Research poll released on Wednesday.

Among New York Democrats, 40 percent had a favorable view of Nixon, while 67 percent had a favorable view of Cuomo. Overall, only 31 percent had a favorable view of Nixon, while 51 percent had a favorable view of Cuomo.

Cuomo had a particularly high favorability rating among black Americans in New York at 79 percent. Just 33 percent of black Americans said they had a favorable view of Nixon. (RELATED: Cynthia Nixon Wants To Ban ‘Fracked Gas’ In New York. Here’s Why That’s Insane)

The poll surveyed 745 likely voters in New York State from June 4 to June 7 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percent.

Nixon’s progressive platform could be too much for New York voters. She supports free higher education for children brought to the U.S. illegally, according to a Wednesday tweet. She also advocates that victims of gun violence should be able to sue weapons producers for “making millions off of our suffering,” according to a June tweet.
