President Donald Trump joked on Monday that he would fire one of his officials in “two minutes” if he does not do a good job.

Trump was speaking at the Meeting of the National Space Council when he thanked a list of his top officials, including Vice President Mike Pence, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, and Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

“[NASA] Administrator [Jim] Bridenstine…congratulations wherever you are,” Trump started, referencing Bridenstine’s swearing-in in late April. “Where is he?”

Trump searched for a bit before finding Bridenstine behind him and pointing at him.

“You better do a good job,” Trump asserted. “I’ll say ‘you’re fired’ in two minutes.”

Vice President Mike Pence smiled gleefully at Trump’s joke and the audience clapped in approval.

“You have a lot of support and you’ve loved this right from the beginning,” Trump confirmed. “He was in Congress, he did an awfully good job, but this was his love, right? So good luck.”
