President Donald Trump urged the House of Representatives to vote for an immigration bill that fulfills his priorities despite little chance of passage in the Senate.
HOUSE REPUBLICANS SHOULD PASS THE STRONG BUT FAIR IMMIGRATION BILL, KNOWN AS GOODLATTE II, IN THEIR AFTERNOON VOTE TODAY, EVEN THOUGH THE DEMS WON’T LET IT PASS IN THE SENATE. PASSAGE WILL SHOW THAT WE WANT STRONG BORDERS & SECURITY WHILE THE DEMS WANT OPEN BORDERS = CRIME. WIN!

Trump’s tweet is a reversal from past position on the legislation with recent concern that House republicans should not even waste their time trying to pass a bill restricting immigration because of obstacles in the Senate.
The bill would fully fund Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, tighten legal immigration, and provide a pathway to citizenship for young illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.
Republicans should stop wasting their time on Immigration until after we elect more Senators and Congressmen/women in November. Dems are just playing games, have no intention of doing anything to solves this decades old problem. We can pass great legislation after the Red Wave!
