Police have opened a nationwide manhunt for three illegal immigrants who allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted two teenage sisters in northern Ohio last week.
Warrants for two counts of kidnapping and rape were issued for David Ramos Contreras, Juan Garcia Rios Adiel and Arnulfo Ramos following an alleged sexual assault in Bowling Green, Ohio, on June 28, police said Tuesday.
A fourth suspect, Simon Juan, 24, was arrested on June 29 and charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
The four men are accused of sexually assaulting and holding 13- and 14-year-old sisters against their will at a Days Inn where the girls were staying with their mother, according to Bowling Green police. At some point, the sisters were able to escape the hotel room and flee to their mother and stepfather, who rushed the girls to the Wood County Hospital for an examination.
Police say the men had been staying at the same Days Inn as the teen sisters and their mother for about a week before the alleged assault. All four men worked in the Bowling Green area, local CBS affiliate WTOL reported.
A search of the Days Inn room revealed that none of the men are U.S. citizens and all had fake identification documents, police said. Contreras, 27, is thought to be from Mexico, and Juan is thought to be from Guatemala. (RELATED: Teen Suspects In Maryland MS-13 Murder Are Unaccompanied Minors From El Salvador)
Adiel had a U.S. permanent resident ID cared issued out of Florida listing a date of birth of Sept. 13 1998, but the card was later determined to be fake. The age and country of origin of Arnulfo Ramos were not reported.
Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is involved in the manhunt for the three at-large suspects, Bowling Green police said. ICE officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the case.
