President Donald Trump questioned why Attorney General Jeff Sessions has not fired a DOJ lawyer intimately involved with pushing the Steele dossier in the FBI during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Newly released text messages between the DOJ lawyer, Bruce Ohr and dossier other Christopher Steele reveal a close relationship between the two, as well as the involvement of Ohr’s wife. Ohr’s wife was an employee of the firm Fusion GPS which commissioned the Democratic opposition research from Steele.

Ohr is now scheduled to appear before Congress to answer questions on August 28 about his role in pushing the dossier to the FBI.

Trump revealed last week that he is considering revoking Ohr’s security clearance, which would effectively render him fired from his job.

“Bruce Ohr is a disgrace. I suspect I’ll be taking it away very quickly,” Trump said of the DOJ official.
