Week 3 of the NFL is here, and everything that we thought we knew about football has successfully been proved wrong.
Now I’ll be the first to admit. Week 2 was messy. I’m on the record saying it was ‘abysmal.’ And while Week 3 wasn’t exactly pretty, it kept us on our toes (unless your name was Jimmy Garoppolo).
Here are the best reactions to this week of the NFL thus far:
I’ve been sitting on this take since Week 1. The Browns are going to the Super Bowl:
Before tonight, Barack Obama was still president the last time the Browns had won a game.

Congratulations @Browns!!!!!

And Josh Allen finally showed up to play … and it went well … against Minnesota?

OMG. The @buffalobills are beating the @Vikings 27-0 with a rookie QB — Josh Allen. This…on the same day Alex Smith is ballin for the @Redskins. We will definitely have a Kirk Cousins’ discussion on @FirstTake tomorrow.

Also present, Redskins defense:
Daron Payne.
BANG.
If you’re going to take down a QB, take him down hard.
That’s his first career sack.#Redskins pic.twitter.com/EuBgT84F9B

You gotta at least appreciate the irony that the Packers have been the team hurt the most by the “Aaron Rodgers” body weight rule so far.
— Ross Tucker (@RossTuckerNFL) September 24, 2018
Honestly, I don’t even know what to say at this point. The NFL has told these guys to not land on the QB, must roll off. That’s precisely what Clay Matthews did. When a player does exactly as instructed and gets a flag anyway, something is terribly wrong.
— Ryan Wood (@ByRyanWood) September 23, 2018
Adrian Peterson still running like an Undrafted Free Agent!
— Ryan Clark (@Realrclark25) September 23, 2018
It wasn’t so much that the Giants won, but the Texans lost:
Texans have lost 9 in a row, the longest active streak in the @NFL.
— Andrew Siciliano (@AndrewSiciliano) September 23, 2018
Back in 2011/2012 I remember a Texans exec telling me “we are THE team in this city. It’s always going to be like that.” And it came off just as arrogant as it reads.
Today, I heard multiple fans leaving NRG stadium talking about the Astros. Things change. #Humility
— Lance Zierlein (@LanceZierlein) September 23, 2018
Eli Manning completed 86% of his passes today on 29 attempts vs the #Texans defense. EIGHTY SIX PERCENT.
— patrick (@PatDStat) September 23, 2018
Patrick Mahomes cannot be stopped (and Jimmy G may be out for the season):
@PatrickMahomes5 for mvp this year calling it now

Jimmy Garoppolo carted to the locker room. #49ers confirm he is out for the game (left knee). Looks like whatever happened, happened before the hit. pic.twitter.com/7qUZLkNHf6

And the Dolphins won, not that anybody cared:
I would like to apologize to the @MiamiDolphins, Coach Gase, Mr. Ross and the whole organization!! My doubt was Unbecoming of the Dolphin Family. I know haters are gonna say “3 games” but keep doing what u guys are doing!!
— Darius Rucker (@dariusrucker) September 23, 2018
Dolphins now two minutes away from matching Sports Illustrated’s predicted win total for them for the entire season.
— Barry Jackson (@flasportsbuzz) September 23, 2018
Who are these Dolphins?

Carson Wentz returned — and not a second too early:

It’s not an Eagles win if they don’t shave 5 years off my life

Andrew Luck update: 10-for-15, 35 yards.
Ten completions, 35 yards.
— Gregg Doyel (@GreggDoyelStar) September 23, 2018
I just heard about the Colts going to a cold Jacoby Brissett over Andrew Luck for a Hail Mary and, well, that’s not good. #NoodleLife
— Cameron DaSilva (@camdasilva) September 24, 2018
The Titans and the Jaguars might as well have just taken a bye week together:
Major fail by Jaguars at home. Those are games you have to win.
— Pete Prisco (@PriscoCBS) September 23, 2018
Don’t look now but Blaine Gabbert just beat the #Jaguars in Jacksonville to put the @Titans in first place.
— Rich Eisen (@richeisen) September 23, 2018
Upset Sunday over.
Detroit beats New England.
Buffalo beats Minnesota.
Tennessee beats Jacksonville.
Washington beats Green Bay.No NFL prediction is safe.

A feel-good story out of Carolina: Efe Obada, who was recruited from Nigeria and survived human trafficking when he was younger, made an all-time interception:
Efe Obada with an interception off a tipped ball by James Bradberry. Wow, pretty incredible game for the International Pathway Program player in his first NFL game.
— Steve Reed (@SteveReedAP) September 23, 2018
You’re not taking this play from Efe pic.twitter.com/8LN4DqdgEd
— Carolina Panthers (@Panthers) September 23, 2018
Football fans in Nigeria have somebody to cheer for. Panthers defensive end Efe Obada, in his first active game, gets an interception off a tipped pass. He also has a quarterback hit. There’s a good reason the Panthers kept him on the 53-man roster. https://t.co/bcgDkKC31f

The Ravens won, but Ray Lewis stole the show:
.@raylewis IS IN THE HOUSE.
— Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) September 23, 2018
The Saints ran up the score at Atlanta:
Aaaahhhhhhhh let’s go @Saints

Michael Thomas just keeps balling.
With another 10 catches today, @Saints WR @Cantguardmike has the most receptions (38) through the season’s first three games of all time.
He remains on pace for over 200 catches, which would shatter the current record of 143. pic.twitter.com/a5hBagxOvD
— NFL Throwback (@nflthrowback) September 23, 2018
The Rams are unstoppable:
The Rams Jared Goff has made a couple of world class throws today. No hype. No headlines. Just production. Love watching him throw. Effortless.
— Colin Cowherd (@ColinCowherd) September 23, 2018
Great Win.
I Love my squad @RamsNFL— Todd Gurley II (@TG3II) September 24, 2018
Your @RamsNFL are 3-0 with a +66 point differential. I guess that’s good.
— Andrew Siciliano (@AndrewSiciliano) September 23, 2018

The Seahawks just woke up, and Dak Prescott is actually bad:
Just got home from a week in the woods. Turn on tv. @Seahawks up by 14. Lessgo @DangeRussWilson !!!
In Russel We Trussel. Let’s get that W!! Here we go!!!!! Where my #12s at!!?— chris pratt (@prattprattpratt) September 23, 2018
I believe the Cowboys actually didn’t take the Seahawks seriously enough in their home opener at the loudest outdoor stadium in the NFL.
— Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) September 23, 2018
Hey @Seahawks, what’s it like to have a playmaking safety? Asking for a fanbase.
— Aaron Nagler (@AaronNagler) September 23, 2018
Dak Prescott isn’t good.
— Michael K-B (@therealmikekb) September 23, 2018
5th straight game in which Dak Prescott has not reached 185 passing yards.
— Marcus Mosher (@Marcus_Mosher) September 23, 2018
And last but definitely not least, Matt Patricia is coming for Belichick’s crown:
Congrats to Matt Patricia on getting his first win as a HC. Happy for my former coach. Patriots have problems to solve. Starting with stopping the run.
— Tedy Bruschi (@TedyBruschiESPN) September 24, 2018

Never thought Matt Patricia was an actual rocket scientist, until I saw the Pats defense without him
— Jim Rome (@jimrome) September 24, 2018
If Monday continues with even a tenth of the electricity from this week, then we’re in for a real clincher tonight with Steelers-Bucs.
