Country music star Zac Brown and his wife Shelly announced Friday that they are getting divorced.
Brown and his wife stated the following in part in a release to People:
We feel blessed to be on such an incredible journey in life and sometimes the journey begins to lead in different directions. It is with deep love and respect that we announce we are separating as a couple. We have led a whirlwind life together growing into a beautiful family with five amazing children and while life will be rearranging a bit, our love and commitment to our family will always be there.
You always hate to see stuff like this, but it sounds like they’re ending on good terms. That’s pretty important because they do have five children. You wouldn’t ever want anything to hurt the kids.
Life can sometimes be hard, marriage can obviously be hard, and you never want to see something end terribly. Hopefully they’re still able to have a solid relationship for the sake of the kids. (RELATED: Wisconsin Star QB Majestically Sings Zac Brown Band’s ‘Chicken Fried’)
They’ve been married since 2006. By entertainment industry standards, that’s an absolute eternity. It seems like most famous people are married and divorced within a couple years.
