Alabama head football coach Nick Saban is endorsing his childhood friend Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin for re-election to the U.S. Senate.
Saban and Manchin have a friendship that dates back to their early days as young athletes in small West Virginia towns. The two have remained good friends and their families still vacation together.

Saban has normally avoided politics to the point where he even claimed to be unaware of the date of the 2016 presidential election. But, Saban made an exception for his lifelong friend, donating the maximum amount to Manchin for his first senate race in 2010.
In addition to Saban, Manchin was also endorsed by West Virginia sports legends Bob Huggins and Jerry West.
Manchin is facing a tough re-election race against West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. (RELATED: Patrick Morrisey Attacks Joe Manchin Over His Eleventh-Hour Support For Kavanaugh)
