A 14-year-old Kansas girl shot a buck with 42-scorable points, capturing the record for the largest non-typical whitetail shot by a female hunter, according to reports.

Paslie Werth, 14, shot the buck only one day after the Kansas youth hunting season began in September, according to Fox News.

Werth was reportedly required to wait for the 60-day drying period in order to officially measure the rack. (RELATED: Hunting Sees Renewed Interest As COVID-19 Rages On)

Originally, the buck was unofficially scored 282 6/8 inches and showed 44 points prior to drying, Fox News reported.

Werth reportedly killed the buck that had been spotted about three years ago on her family’s land.

“My sister passed on the buck, and then my dad passed it on last year, because it was pretty broke up when he saw it, and this year, was kinda just my year,” Werth reportedly said.

After drying, the buck was measured at 271 4/8 inches and 42 points, reports Fox News.

“Being with my dad and as soon as I shot it and we got out of the blind and we got to it, we were so happy then and that was probably the best moment of it,” Werth added, according to Fox News. “Being able to share the experience with my dad, it was just really fun.”
