Police caught a drug dealer after he shared a photo of cheese in an online chat room, according to the BBC.

Police identified Carl Stewart by analyzing his fingerprints shown in the photo, the outlet reported Monday. Stewart admitted to conspiracy to supply heroin, cocaine, ketamine and MDMA while in Liverpool Crown Court.

He was sentenced to 13 years and six months in prison, according to the outlet. He was also sentenced to prison for transferring criminal property, according to the BBC. (RELATED: TV Host Says Son Overdosed After Meeting Drug Dealer On Snapchat)

The photo was shared by Stewart on EncroChat, which was hacked by police back in July of 2020, the BBC previously reported. Hundreds were arrested at the time of the crack down by police, the outlet reported.

“This is just the beginning,” Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick told the BBC at the time. “We will be disrupting organised criminal networks as a result of these operations for weeks and months and possibly years to come.”

It must really feel terrible to find out that police used a photo of cheese that you willingly shared on the internet to bust you for drugs. You can’t be in a good place after you find that out. I guess these criminals don’t know how to lay low. Should this guy be added to the list of dumbest criminals?
