A 37 year-old medical student allegedly murdered and harvested the organs of a Mexican woman he met on a dating app, reports say.

Fifty-one-year-old Blanca Arellano told her family she was going to Lima, Peru, to meet Juan Pablo Jesús Villafuerte after the two met online, The Independent reported.

Arellano spoke with her niece, Karla, on Nov. 7 and said things were going well, but the family soon lost contact, according to Fox News.

“I never thought I would be in this situation, but today I’m asking for your support to spread this post and find one of the most loved and important people of my life,” Karla tweeted Nov. 12. “My aunt Blanca Olivia Arellano Gutiérrez disappeared on Monday November 07 in Peru, she is of Mexican origin, we fear for her life.”

Karla then said that after she didn’t hear from her aunt she contacted Villafuerte, who said the couple split and that Arellano was headed back to Mexico, according to The Independent. (RELATED: China Harvests Organs From Tens Of Thousands Of Living Prisoners Each Year, Activist Tells Congress)

But authorities found a severed finger in Peru on Nov. 10 with a silver ring attached, which was later confirmed to be that of Arellano’s, the outlet reported. Several other body parts washed up over the next few days, including an arm, a faceless head and a torso missing all of its internal organs, according to The Independent. Authorities believe the organs were harvested, according to the report.

Villafuerte was arrested Nov. 17 “on charges of human organs trafficking,” Peru-based outlet Latin Noticias reported, according to Fox.

After Arellano disappeared, Villafuerte apparently posted several TikTok videos appearing to show him directing human organs, such as a brain and pancreas, The Independent reported, citing news outlet El Popular.
