An off-duty Philadelphia doctor and nurse are being hailed as heroes after they saved a man who stopped breathing during Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles game.

Dr. Vincent Basile of Einstein Medical Center was enjoying the game with his girlfriend when someone began shouting for help, ABC 6 reported.

“She kind of hits me on the shoulder and says, ‘Hey there is this guy laying down on the ground over there’,” Basile, who was dressed up in a pink dress and face paint after partaking in the Mummers parade, told the outlet.

Basile immediately sprung into action and ran to the scene where he found a man bleeding and turning blue on the ground surrounded by a security guard and a nurse, Natalie Spencer. (RELATED: Man Broke Into School To Save 24 People In Storm After Nearby Houses Refused Him Shelter)

“The next thing you know, a guy in a pink dress is running up next to me,” Spencer, who was reportedly decked out in full Eagles gear, recounted. Spencer was at the game with her son.

“I said, ‘Hey, I know I don’t look like it, but I’m an emergency medicine doctor’,” Basile recounted.

“He’s not talking. He’s blue,” Basile reportedly said. “He doesn’t look like he’s breathing.”

Spencer said Basile turned to her and said “start compressions until we get an AED here.”

After several minutes of CPR, the man regained consciousness, according to the report.

“I doubt the first thing you expect to see is a Mummer with face paint on wearing pit viper glasses.”

“Believe it or not, the first thing to come out of the guy’s mouth was he asked what the score of the Eagles game was,” Basile added. The fan is reportedly expected to be just fine.
