MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said Monday that Republicans should stop whining about gas stoves and instead “grow up” and start winning elections.

The panel was discussing the recent concerns that the Biden Administration wanted to ban gas stoves. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) told Bloomberg that gas stoves are a “hidden hazard” and that “products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”

“Any option is on the table.”

Co-host Jonathan Lemire said Republicans wanted to capitalize on the story to criticize the Biden administration’s energy policies before Scarborough chimed in to say Republicans need to better focus their energies.

“They lost the election,” Scarborough said.

“They got beaten in the Senate,” Scarborough continued. “Instead of Kevin McCarthy’s prediction of 60 house seats, they didn’t get the red wave. You look at how every governor in Biden’s party, I mean, you have to go back to 1934 for a party to do as badly as the Republican Party did here across the nation.”

“And they keep trying this stuff. I’m here as a friend telling them: grow the blank up!”

“Grow up! You need to start winning elections again, grow up!” Scarborough continued.

The CPSC had directed its staff to to gather data on potential hazards posed by gas stoves and proposed solutions, though denied plans to propose regulatory action at this time, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Still, Democrats have sought to ban the appliances with more than 20 Democratic lawmakers urging the CPSC to crack down on gas stoves’ emissions in a December letter.
