A video posted Thursday shows a rare hail storm coating a busy intersection in Venice, Los Angeles, as a massive winter storm moves eastwards.

The video, shared by Overheard LA, was originally taken by screenwriter Allan Loeb from the enormous intersection near the Venice Beach sign, a block or so from the Pacific Ocean. It shows the  enormous storm coating the road and street.

Though clear skies can be seen in the near distance to the storm in Venice, Fox LA reported that the hail went as far inland as Hollywood. A light coating of snow also scattered over the infamous Hollywood sign. “I have certainly never seen this in Hollywood,” Fox 11 reporter Chelsea Edwards said during a Thursday broadcast, the outlet reported.
