The Weeknd has officially made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the most popular artist on the planet.

The newly crowned star recently broke two new records on Spotify — one for the most monthly listeners in history with over 111 million and another for being the first artist ever to exceed 100 million listeners in a month, according to TMZ. The 33-year old Canadian artist has reached worldwide fame and has captivated audiences of all ages, across the globe.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, currently has almost 30 million more monthly listeners than Miley Cyrus, who paced second at 82.4 million, according to Guinness World Records. Shakira holds the third spot at 81.6 million, followed by Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Rihanna.

The Weeknd has been smashing records in every category and collecting a whole lot of hardware on the awards show circuit. He was named as artist of the year at the 2023 Junos, and that was just one of four big wins for him that evening, according to Yahoo. (RELATED: ‘Lick It. Spank It.
