Trash-talk and celebrations should be banned if you’re getting blown out (or losing, period).

The Lakers and Clippers squared off Wednesday night in the battle of Los Angeles, with LeBron James and the Lake Show getting completely hammered in a 125-118 loss to Russell Westbrook and the Clips.

It was an important game for the Lakers, who are trying to jump up to the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference standings in order to avoid the play-in tournament, so this was a pretty bad defeat for LeBron & Co. With that being the case, why on earth did the self-proclaimed king feel the need to get cocky (and while getting blown out at that)?

During the fourth quarter of the contest with the Lakers getting beat by double digits, LeBron drove into the paint to put up a layup (that he hit), being fouled and going to the free throw line for an and-1 shot.

Well, as he completed the basket, James walked over to the Clippers bench and both stared down and chirped at Russell Westbrook, his former Lakers teammate and now in-town rival. Westbrook was shipped off to the Utah Jazz prior to the NBA Trade Deadline before ultimately joining the Clippers after a buyout from the Jazz. (RELATED: Dallas Mavericks’ Reggie Bullock Incredibly Buys His Own Private Island And Is Now Building A Resort)

It’s pretty clear that LeBron James has beef with Russell Westbrook:

And it’s pretty clear that Russ has beef with LeBron, and got the best of him at that:

LeBron took a massive L in this game — multiple.
