John Stamos revealed Monday that he had the 11-month-old Olsen twins fired from “Full House” because he couldn’t deal with their crying.

The 59-year-old actor appeared on Josh Peck and Ben Soffer’s podcast “Good Guys” and talked about his time at “Full House,” as well as various other topics. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen rose to fame during their role as Michelle Tanner in the sitcom. “Full House” was one of the most popular shows, airing from 1987 to 1995.

When Peck asked Stamos if he tried to get the Olsen twins fired, Stamos replied, “I did it. I didn’t try.” (RELATED: Will Smith Teases Career Return With Another ‘Bad Boys’ Film After ‘Slapgate’ Made Him Toxic)

During the pilot episode, Stamos’ character, Jesse, and another character, Joey, were trying to change Michelle’s diaper. While filming, Stamos said both twins were screaming, “They wanted to be anywhere else but there — and so did I.”

The producers kept switching the twins in hopes the other wouldn’t cry while filming the scene. “I couldn’t deal with it … I said, ‘this is not going to work, guys. Get rid of them. I can’t work like this,” Stamos said.

The producers brought two new red-headed twins to replace the Olsen twins. “They weren’t attractive,” Stamos continued, “It was only a few days, and I said, ‘Bring the Olsens back. These kids are terrible.’”

Peck asked if the Olsens knew they were fired. Stamos said, “They do now.”

“And now they own this building we’re talking in,” Stamos added.

The Olsen twins currently run a fashion brand they founded called “The Row,” Ashley Olsen said in an interview with ID Magazine. Stamos is currently a star in “Big Shot” and a voice actor in ‘Spidey and His Amazing Friends,’ reports Forbes.

The sequel, “Fuller House” aired on Netflix in 2016 without the Olsen twins. Stamos said in an interview with Hollywood Reporter he felt if he had reached out to the twins directly instead of through their agent, they might have agreed to join the cast.
