Man Allegedly Stabs Brother’s Friend To Death After Being Rejected From Weed-Smoking Session

A Florida man allegedly stabbed his brother’s friend to death after being denied the chance to smoke weed, according to Fox 35 Orlando.

Prosecutors are charging 31-year-old Joseph McDonald with first-degree murder, and he is currently being held in jail without bond, Fox 35 Orlando reported. A witness reportedly claimed he and the 21-year-old victim went over to a friend’s house Sunday morning to allegedly smoke weed. While the victim’s friend was not there, his brother Joseph McDonald was reportedly present.

McDonald was allegedly angry when the 21-year-old and witness did not offer him the chance to smoke after McDonald had let them in, per Fox 35 Orlando.

The witness was reportedly in the garage when the alleged incident happened and says he overheard the two men allegedly fighting. From there, the victim made his way outside with a stab wound in his abdomen that was still bleeding out, the witness said, according to Fox 35 Orlando. The victim also reportedly asked someone to call 911.

McDonald was dealing with “significant mental illness” that had been going on for a number of years, investigators learned, according to Fox 35 Orlando.

McDonald allegedly fled the scene, but police found him about 3 miles away in a brushy area at 1:15 in the afternoon bleeding from a wound in his left hand, per Fox 35 Orlando. Hospital officials reportedly said the sharp object appeared to be the cause of the wound.
