Two top California legislators are coming under fire after new evidence has emerged that they helped a group of radical antiwar activists cross the Iraqi-Jordanian border in order to deliver aid to families of enemy insurgents in the war-ridden Iraqi city of Fallujah. In December 2004, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D) and Rep. Henry Waxman (D) each sent letters of diplomatic courtesy to the U.S. Embassy in Amman, Jordan, requesting assistance for members of the radical group Global Exchange and the antiwar group Palisadians for Peace.

Nine years ago, on September 11, 2001, radical Islamic terrorists hijacked four airplanes and murdered nearly 3,000 innocent people, marking the worst terrorist attack on US soil in our nation’s history. The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center rapidly transformed into an inferno, with trapped fathers and mothers calling their children in tears to say their last goodbyes -- others leaping to their deaths in desperation. The towers would collapse later that morning, leaving behind an aftermath of blinding smoke and scattered debris. The charred and broken bodies of many murdered civilians were never identified, and America awoke to the horrific destruction caused by the enemies of freedom.
As a friend of mine, Los Angeles radio show host John Phillips, put it, local elected officials in California are robbing their constituents so they can live like multi-millionaire gangster rappers. What’s sad is that he’s not far off. His colorful analysis has proven true, as recent reports reveal that city managers in Southern California are paying themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars, living in lavish mansions and cruising to work in limousines -- all on the taxpayers’ dime. Couple this unchecked corruption with California’s historically incompetent leadership, and you have the makings of a fiscal calamity.
Democrats are playing the race card yet again this election cycle, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is leading the way with his most recent slap in the face to Republican minorities. While speaking to a crowd of Hispanic supporters on the subject of illegal immigration Tuesday, Reid despicably insulted both Hispanics and Republicans, stating, “I don’t know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican. Ok, do I need to say more?”
