John is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Race 13.1, a Sports Marketing and Events company focused on the production of first class half marathon events in mid-sized cities. The company will produce 20-25 races throughout the Southeast in 2015 with plans in place to produce 60-75 races annually in the United States by 2018. <br /> <br /> From March of 2012 to July of 2014, John served as the Director of Investor Relations at Lookout Capital, with responsibilities focused around investor relations and fundraising. <br /> <br /> Prior to this, John was the President &amp; COO of YF Atlantic, LLC, the master franchisee of the mid-Atlantic region for one of the world's largest frozen yogurt franchises. He co-founded the firm in 2008 and was responsible for strategy development, implementation, and all day-to-day operations of the franchise system. Under his leadership the firm developed 12 retail locations in some of the most sought after properties in the mid-Atlantic region. <br /> <br /> John was appointed by Governor Pat McCrory to the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Ports Authority in 2013 and is currently serving a 6 year term. In addition, he is an Observer on the Board of Directors for Raleigh Workshop, Inc. (Raleigh Denim), a Lookout Capital Portfolio Company. <br /> <br /> John earned a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University, where he was a starter and letterman on the football team. He is a founding member of Holy Trinity Church in Raleigh, NC.
