The Justice Department filed another lawsuit against immigration practices by Arizona authorities, saying Monday that a network of community colleges acted illegally in requiring noncitizens to provide their green cards before they could be hired for jobs. (more)

If hyper-inflation applied to political philosophy, “human rights,” like Deutsch Marks in the early Weimar Republic, would be piled into wheelbarrows by the billions for a loaf of bread.  The latest profligate printing of “human rights” currency is the Obama administration’s American self-assessment submitted to the UN Council on Human Rights. (more)

Last week the White House reversed another Bush administration policy and sent a report to the UN Human Rights Council outlining America’s supposed human rights violations.  President Obama’s litany of abuses by the United States includes discrimination against and oppression of minorities, women, gays and the handicapped, and even takes Arizona’s new immigration law to task. Our president also modestly adds the grand work he is doing to save us from ourselves, like his healthcare program. (more)

PHOENIX — Gov. Jan Brewer’s lawyers on Thursday filed the first brief in their appeal of a ruling that put the most controversial elements of Arizona’s new immigration law on hold. (more)

Meanwhile, MSNBC announced that his substitute host Lawrence O’Donnell’s own show, “The Last Word,” will debut Sept. 27 at 10 p.m. Olbermann’s little bird is flying from the nest to build his own! Now there will be two shoddily constructed, little-watched nests trying to avoid being eaten by Fox. This won’t end well. (more)
