UPDATE: HBO announced the total number was 17.8 million when including streaming views.

A stunning amount of people watched the latest “Game of Thrones” episode.

According to the Hollywood Reporter Tuesday, 12.02 million people tuned in on HBO for the airing of the battle of Winterfell Sunday night. Streaming numbers aren’t known at this time. (RELATED: These Are The Sexiest Photos Of ‘Game Of Thrones‘ Star Emilia Clarke On The Internet)

I can’t say I’m surprised by the numbers. Once the streaming numbers come in, the final total will be substantially higher.

We’d have to be crazy to be shocked by a large audience coming in for the episode. It was arguably the most hyped episode of television in recent TV memory.

At the very least, the third episode of the final “Game of Thrones” season was the most hyped episode of television in my lifetime.

Now, we can debate until we’re blue in the face about whether or not we loved it. Personally, I thought it was outstanding, and I don’t care what the critics have to say.

Don’t care one bit. Arya was out there taking lives like it was going out of style. If that didn’t get your blood flowing, then I don’t know what ever would. You’re crazy if you don’t think her killing the Night King was as badass as it gets.

Now, we’ll have to see what kind of ratings the final three episodes draw. My guess is they’ll be huge. Sound off in the comments with your thoughts on the episode. My guess is most of you will agree with me.
