ESPN recently released an amazing video of Alabama football coach Nick Saban.

The network chronicled Saban’s childhood in the coal mining country of West Virginia and his life in general, including being raised by his father “Big Nick.” (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The seven minute video is absolutely incredible from start to finish, and it’s the definition of must-watch content for football fans.

Now, I just read a book about Nick Saban and his rise at Alabama. So, a lot of the information isn’t new, but hearing Saban describe his upbringing is sort of chilling, especially when he talks about losing friends in a coal mining explosion.

Watch the awesome video below.

Nick Saban’s journey to the top of the college football world is truly remarkable. Nick Saban’s father passed away before the coaching legend catapulted himself into legendary status, but there’s no doubt he is the way he is because of his upbringing.

The six-time national champion grew up in a tough part of America. Hard work dictated success, and nothing came easy.

We’re talking about coal mining country. As Saban talked about above, he knew people who literally died in the mines.

It’s not hard to understand why Saban is such a perfectionist once you understand the way he grew up. “Big Nick” forced his son to be perfect at everything and held him to expectations that were probably unrealistic.

Yet, it’s that attitude that molded the Alabama coach into arguably the best to ever do it. Props to ESPN for the awesome video.

It was without question one of the best college football videos I’ve seen in a long time.
