Purdue basketball star Matt Haarms is leaving the program.
According to multiple reports, the news was announced late Monday. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining after playing three seasons for the Boilermakers. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

This sure is a big update in the world of college basketball. Haarms is a very solid player in the post. There’s no doubt about that at all.
He’s also 7’3″, which makes shooting over him incredibly difficult.

Is he going to score you a bunch of points? No, but he is a defensive presence under the hoop. Guys his size don’t grow on trees.
If you’re a team in desperate need of help down low, then you have to get Haarms on the phone as quickly as possible.
He’s almost certainly going to end up at another high major program, and you might as well make it yours if you’re a coach that needs to boost the roster.
