Kobe Bryant appeared in “The Last Dance” late Sunday night on ESPN.

The deceased basketball legend’s interview in the Michael Jordan documentary aired when the fifth and sixth episodes drooped, and it was chilling. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

The former Lakers star, who died in a helicopter crash, talked about how he wouldn’t have won five rings without Michael Jordan helping him out.

You can watch a snippet of it below.

That was a straight punch to the gut for sports fans. Kobe Bryant was one of the greatest players to ever pick up a basketball, and he had a hell of a pro career.

Then, he was tragically killed in late January when his helicopter crashed in California. Watching his interview about Jordan just hits differently.

It’s crystal clear that Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan shared a very special connection. He’s also probably right that he doesn’t win five rings without Jordan mentoring him.

Damn, all these months later and Kobe Bryant’s death still cuts deep. ESPN dropping his interview last night was a painful reminder of what the world lost when he died.

I haven’t finished the two new episodes yet, but if the Bryant part is an indication of things to come, then fans are in for an emotional time.
