“Outer Banks” star Chase Stokes had virtually no money before starring in the hit Netflix show.

Stokes stars as John B in the hit series and he was a lot of fun in season one, which dropped back in April.

Well, it turns out he’d pretty much completely run out of money before landing the role. In an interview on “Chicks in the Office,” Stokes detailed how he was so poor he needed to borrow $100 from his mom just to get an Uber for the casting and some food. I’m not a billionaire, but I honestly don’t even know what it would be like to not be able to afford an Uber or dinner.

His comments are a great reminder that we should all be thankful for what we have in our lives. If you have food on the table, a roof over your head and you’re healthy, then you’re doing well.

I’m also pretty confident Stokes won’t have to worry about money going forward. “Outer Banks” was a giant success for Netflix, and he and Madelyn Cline sound confident in a second season happening.

They even talked about the possibilities of the treasure hunting show being located down in the Bahamas.

It’s always fun to see how far people have come, and Stokes going from being broke to being the star of a huge Netflix show is a hell of a journey.

Hopefully, season two is as fun as season one. If there’s one thing I’m confident in, it’s that Stokes is about to be straight paid.
