More hype has been poured on Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler ahead of the season starting.

Rattler will lead Lincoln Riley’s offense in 2020 for the Sooners, and he’s generating a massive amount of attention entering the upcoming campaign. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

College Football News released its list of the most interesting players in the sport entering the 2020 season, and the young gunslinger was number one.

It’s hard to disagree with College Football News putting Rattler at the top of the list. Everyone knows that Oklahoma QBs put up gaudy stats. It’s been that way for years, and everyone thinks Rattler is going to ball out.

If he does, then the Sooners are going to be in a prime position for another run at the College Football Playoff in 2020.

I can’t remember the last time a redshirt freshman generated this kind of hype before even starting a game.

Rattler would have started in 2019 for the Sooners if Jalen Hurts hadn’t showed up from Alabama. Instead, he spent most of last season on the bench and playing in mob up time.

Yet the expectations are still absurdly high. He’s expected by some to be a Heisman finalist. Again, we’re talking about a guy who has barely played any college football.

It should be a ton of fun to see what he does in 2020. The eyes of the college football world are upon him. That much is for sure.
