A woman at a St. Louis gas station reportedly hit a St. Louis city sheriff’s deputy with the deputy’s baton after being told she could not enter without a mask.
Just before midnight Christmas day, surveillance video shows the woman entering the Shell gas station with her mask in her hand but not wearing it, according to KSDK-TV.

The deputy, a 59-year-old woman, was reportedly working security at the gas station during the incident.
When told by the deputy that she could not enter the gas station without wearing a mask, the woman allegedly “became belligerent.” (RELATED: REPORT: JetBlue Bans Lil Pump For Not Wearing A Mask)
The woman reportedly pushed and punched the deputy before taking the deputy’s baton and striking her, causing a concussion.
“My first response is to express concern for my deputy who suffered head injuries but is expected to recover,” St. Louis Sheriff Vernon Betts said, according to KSDK-TV.
“Secondly, this incident points to the danger law enforcement officers face every day. This individual made a serious mistake and we are working with the St. Louis Police Department to apprehend and bring charges against this attacker. Thirdly, this pandemic is not over and you must wear a mask when in public,” Betts reportedly added.
