College GameDay will reportedly be in Annapolis for week two of the college football season.
According to Bill Wagner, the popular ESPN event will be at the Navy/Air Force game September 11, which is the 20-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
The Capital has heard from several sources that @espn will bring its popular College GameDay show to Annapolis for the Navy-Air Force showdown, which is being played on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

If this report holds true, then it’s a great decision from everyone involved. I’ve seen up close just how awesome GameDay is as an event.
The Friday before the Army/Navy game in 2019, I traveled up to Philadelphia to interview Rece Davis and David Pollack and to tour the set.
It was an awesome experience and it was a very in-depth look at how great GameDay is as a show and event.
“You know what it teaches you?…Shut up and show up.”
I spoke with @DavidPollack47 and @ReceDavis about the importance of football.
Both gave incredible answers, and every fan and critic of the sport should listen. pic.twitter.com/DhYYEfmqvh

Furthermore, there’s something extra special about the service academies when they compete against each other in college football.
Air Force, Navy and Army don’t really have a realistic shot at winning a national title, but they do represent the country as a whole.
Today is the Army/Navy game, and it’s without a doubt one of the coolest events in all of sports.
A year ago, I spoke with College GameDay stars David Pollack and Rece Davis about the importance of the historic rivalry. pic.twitter.com/n7NkPO4QVj

On September 11, the Falcons and Midshipmen will take the field on the 20-year anniversary of 9/11 and I can’t think of a better location for GameDay to be.
