Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz went after the media Wednesday for ignoring the allegations made by an FBI informant about President Joe Biden participating in a foreign bribery scheme.

Cruz spoke about the Biden bribery allegations on the latest episode of his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” accusing the media of running cover for Biden. (RELATED: White House Laughs Off, Dismisses Alleged 17 Biden Bribery Tapes)

“I want you to ask yourself something: Did you see on the news last night Chuck Grassley’s allegation that there are tape recordings of Joe Biden taking a $5 million bribe? Did you see it in the newspaper — was it the headline today?” Cruz asked 10 minutes into the podcast episode.

“What was the headline on the front page? Was it tape recordings of evidence that the President, Joe Biden, took bribes from a Ukrainian corrupt official? Was that the headline? And you know what, I’m willing to bet every single listener of ‘Verdict’ — the answer is no. That wasn’t your headline, that wasn’t on the news. The press won’t cover this. And I gotta say even worse than that, the FBI is stonewalling and covering this up,” he continued.

Cruz spoke about his tense exchange Tuesday with FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate about the FBI file alleging discussions between Joe Biden, Hunter Biden and a Ukrainian oligarch regarding $5 million in bribes. He believes the alleged recordings of the Bidens talking about taking bribes should be publicized and broadcasted nationally. “This whistleblower should testify in front of Congress on national television for the American people to hear his allegations, to assess is he telling the truth or not. What should happen: The 17 tape recordings — 15 with Hunter Biden, two with Joe Biden — should be released to the public. They should be played nationally, you should be able to listen to them and determine maybe Joe Biden’s innocent, or maybe as guilty as hell and took a $5 million bribe, which is what the confidential informant alleges, in exchange for government policy,” Cruz said.

He concluded his podcast episode by accusing the FBI of being above the law and attempting to cover up the document with the bribery allegations. FBI officials initially rejected the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena for the document and later gave in when the committee moved to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress. House Oversight Chairman James Comer has also said the FBI is investigating the Biden bribery allegations.

“What has happened with the FBI is they’ve gotten, to use a drug dealer phrase, ‘high on their own supply.’ They believe nobody can check them — that they are the judge, jury and executioner. They decide what’s acceptable, they decide what’s not. They decide if they hate Donald Trump and they will target and persecute him and go after him with everything they’ve got. They decide if they like Joe Biden, and they’ll cover up and hide and obfuscate and bury evidence of corruption of Joe Biden.”
