“Yellowstone” star Ian Bohen said Sunday that the final episodes of the hit cowboy drama are just a few months away from being in full production.

Bohen was out of the Stetson and in a suit during Sunday night’s Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party, where he spoke with Entertainment Tonight (ET) about the future of the groundbreaking series, “Yellowstone.” Bohen plays one of the main cowboys down in the Dutton-Yellowstone ranch bunkhouse. His story has evolved over the last five-and-a-half seasons, and we’re waiting to find out how his romance moves forward with country star Lainey Wilson (on the show, not in real life).

“We will go back … rumor has it in May,” Bohen told ET. “This summer, and then we should be on in November, roughly.” Then he second guessed himself. “It could be June … we shoot six episodes,” he continued. “November, maybe December, and then we go through the holidays and maybe season finale … series finale maybe on Super Bowl [Sunday].”

We can assume he’s joking about that last part. Most networks release hit-television shows a day early to avoid clashing with the Super Bowl.

“Yellowstone” has been on a seemingly endless hiatus, and writer/co-creator Taylor Sheridan is finalizing this last installment while also setting up a pretty major spinoff. The show’s leading man, Kevin Costner, has also dealt with a year of drama and divorce, culminating in him releasing the first of his own western cowboy film series, “Horizon.” (RELATED: ‘Yellowstone’ Star Luke Grimes Gives Intimate Insight On Season Five)

All of this and more is why “Yellowstone” is coming to a premature conclusion. “It’s like going to college and grad school with the same people for six or eight years, and you’re like, ‘We have to go? Then what are we gonna do next?'” Bohen said of the situation, though noted that Sheridan was going to deliver a conclusion that all fans will find “most satisfying.”

“People come and go, and there’s all kinds of stories that you may read about and hear, but this story of what this show is about is the most important,” he added. “We’re all components, and we all become madly in love with each other as actors and as people, so we’ll finish that out in this beautiful glide to land. It’ll be great, so we just want to take advantage of the time more than anything.” (RELATED: Shocking Theory About ‘Yellowstone’ Conclusion Erupts Online, But There’s A Huge Catch)

Well, let’s hurry up and get your butts to Montana to wrap this thing up. Something tells me this won’t be the last we see of the bunkhouse boys, anyway.
