Patrick Kane back to the Chi?! … Count me in!

When superstar right wing Patrick Kane made his return to Chicago as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, he was welcomed by Blackhawks fans with a roaring ovation

With that being the case, you can just imagine how wild it would be if he and his No. 88 switch back into Chicago Blackhawks attire. The Windy City would blow the roof off the United Center. (RELATED: NHL Bringing In Some Of The Best Stanley Cup Playoff TV Ratings In League History: REPORT)

Well, come to find out, that might actually happen. According to Blackhawks beat reporter Scott Powers of The Athletic, the organization could potentially have some internal conversations regarding possibly bringing back what is 100% their best player ever in franchise history.

Last offseason, Chicago general manager Kyle Davidson was clear that the franchise had zero interest in Kane returning, and this because of their rising star center Connor Bedard. Davidson wanted to give the 18-year-old a chance to shine individually, rather than have a massive shadow like Kane.

But it looks like things may have changed …

I’m no fan of the Chicago Blackhawks (though I like their branding), and I probably could appreciate Patrick Kane more as an individual, but I tell ya something … I was game back then with a Kane x Blackhawks connection, and I would be now.

And I think that’s the thing … the Blackhawks and Kane need to be together. That’s the only way this thing is going to work, anything else (like him in a Detroit Red Wings jersey) is friggin’ weird.
