America, meet Nick Bienz!

A Golf Galaxy employee who will play in the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic after surviving a playoff during a qualifier Monday.

Playing at The Orchards Golf Club in Washington, Michigan, Bienz shot a 7-under 65, one of five golfers to do so. However, there were only four qualifying spots left for the Rocket Mortgage Classic, so Bienz had to take part in a 5-for-4 playoff — he faced off against Angelo Giantsopoulos, Bean Breault, Brandon Berry and Danny Guise.

Understandably, Bienz’s nerves were completely out of whack prior to the playoff kicking off, so what does my man do to calm himself down? (RELATED: ‘F**king Incredible’: LIV Golf’s Jon Rahm Goes Off After His Backswing Gets Disrupted By A Drone)

By throwing down not one, not two, but three ice cold beers! And it paid off!

Things closed out with the eight-hole playoff with Breault being left on the outside looking in, falling short on the final hole against two birdies.

For Bienz, he’s never played in a tournament before that was sanctioned by the PGA Tour. Now, he’ll be a part of the 156-golfer field Thursday morning at Detroit Golf Club. The group that he’ll participate in will be known Tuesday afternoon.

The Rocket Mortgage Classic just got a lot more interesting!
