Tim Allen is making a comeback in a sitcom titled “Shifting Gears” on ABC.
Allen will star opposite Kat Dennings from “Two Broke Girls” on the upcoming show, Forbes reported Tuesday. The famous comedian formerly spent 14 years at ABC with his hit show, “Home Improvement,” between 1991 and 1999, as well as six seasons of “Last Man Standing,” which ran from 2011-2017.
Allen will play the role of Matt, “the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop,” according to Forbes.

The plot line promises some drama and challenging relationship dynamics.
“When Matt’s estranged daughter (Riley Dennings) and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins,” the sitcom’s synopsis says.
Allen will be joined by Daryl “Chill” Mitchell from “NCIS: New Orleans,” who will play the role of a former marine named Stitch, a mechanic at the shop. Maxwell Simkins from “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” and Barrett Margolis will play Riley’s children, Carter and Georgia. The role of Riley’s younger brother, Nick, has not been cast at this time.
