A Super Bowl hero … is gone.
Under two seasons following one of the greatest plays in team history, the Kansas City Chiefs have made the move to release wide receiver Kadarius Toney. (RELATED: New York Giants Cut Former Pro Bowler Allen Robinson: REPORT)
The 65-yard punt return from Toney in Super Bowl LVII’s fourth quarter gave assistance to Kansas City to hand them the 38-35 win against the Philadelphia Eagles. Also punching in a touchdown during fourth quarter action, Toney was completely circled by Philly players while the punt return was happening, but he ended up breaking free and cutting up towards the end zone. When the smoke cleared, he was downed with a tackle, but with that being said, the move set up the game-winning touchdown for the Chiefs.
In 2021, Toney came into the NFL as a first-round selection by the New York Giants. Near the halfway point of the 2022 season, Toney was eventually traded to Kansas City. The Chiefs shipped off third and sixth-rounders for Toney’s services.

I can see Kadarius Toney getting another opportunity as we go along, but I do think that he needs to focus more on special teams. That’s where franchises will want him going forward.
