Oops: Fox News uses Tina Fey photo for Sarah Palin story

It’s too late to have been an April Fool’s joke. However it happened, whether it was unintentional or intentional.

On Sunday’s “American’s Election HQ” on the Fox News Channel, a teaser from Shannon Bream about an interview with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin that appeared on “Fox News Sunday” used an incorrect photo for Palin.

The photo was one of NBC’s “30 Rock” star Tina Fey’s “Saturday Night Live” appearances from 2008, which she impersonated Palin. (h/t Jared Keller, The Atlantic)

“Meanwhile it’s all eyes on Sarah Palin,” Bream said. “In an exclusive interview with Fox News, the former VP candidate said she’s still 50/50 about a 2012 run and if she does, Howard Dean has a warning for Democrats. He says Palin could beat President Obama.”

This does happen from time to time. Late last year, CBS News used a faked photo of former President George W. Bush’s book “Decision Points” that offered a very unflattering view of his presidency.

That should tell you everything you need to know about “Faux” “News”. Change the channel or get dumbed down! Your call regressives!!!!!!

“The producer has since been disciplined…”

Disciplined ????!!!!!! You mean like he/she won’t get their next coffee break ?

What ever happened to immediately firing somebody who commits gross negligence, massive stupidity and monumental incompetence ?

Get a grip! It’s not like they showed Palin as a green two-headed monster. It was a flattering picture, albeit a mistake. Sheesh…mistakes happen.

on one hand, there are clues that many people at fox don’t like palin. see here, “contributor palin” http://sheya.com/2011/06/02/fox-ups-the-ante-against-governor-palin/ and there are other clues too. so maybe it was some intentional joke. on the other hand, maybe it was a REALLY careless staff member. on another hand, how could anyone mistake that ugliness for sarah palin, lol…

  • Mr.ManZ

This was totally intentional ! Those big wigs of Fox News dont like the fact that Sarah Palin has became the center of attention. There hopes in my opinion was that they could slow her down by bringing back some of the bad publicity of her 2008 vice presidential bid. This is one of the most underhanded tricks I have seen in awhile. …………… Mr. Alies should be so proud of his network standards.

    • thephranc

Yeah trying to sabotage one of their highest rated employees sounds way more reasonable then for instance an intern searching for Palin and grabbing one of the first images to come up in the file bin.

So…by damaging Palin he keeps her out of the presidential race, thus getting to use her more on the air, and yet saves on the next contract negotiation– because of the damage he did by putting up a picture of Fey that very few viewers would notice.

That’s an “interesting” theory. Do you figure Ailes switched the photos himself ?
