On the day of the CNN/Western Republican Leadership Conference debate in Las Vegas, the Heritage Foundation, American Enterprise Institute and CNN jointly announced Tuesday that they will host a Republican presidential debate focused on foreign policy and national security.

The GOP debates so far have largely addressed the economy and a mix of social issues.

“Heritage is delighted to have this opportunity to increase public understanding of the candidates’ positions on critical foreign policy and national security questions requiring American leadership in the second decade of the 21st century,” Heritage Foundation president Ed Feulner said in a statement.

The debate will take place in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 8:00 p.m.

“We hope that this debate will illuminate the candidates positions on national security and foreign policy at a critical time for America in the world,” said American Enterprise Institute president Arthur Brooks.

Both organizations co-hosting the debate with CNN are non-profit, nonpartisan think tanks based in Washington, D.C.
