In an interview with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas, Andrew C. McCarthy, the former assistant United States attorney who successfully led the prosecutions of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers, gave his opinions on the Arab spring and assessed the handling of it by the Obama Administration.
“It is successive American administrations that have refused to grapple with Islamist ideology — or Islamic supremacism, is probably the best way of putting it. They’ve had various reasons for that — I think some of them well-intentioned, some of them not so well-intentioned — but it’s basically been verboten to talk about what it is that inspires our enemies and to acknowledge the fact that there is an unavoidable nexus between Islamic doctrine and terrorism committed by Muslims.”
