Adam Carolla says that he couldn’t imagine a late night show host being able to stay on the air if they expressed social conservative views.

The actor and comedian explained to The Daily Caller how Hollywood treats conservatives in an extensive interview about politics and his new book, “President Me: The America That’s in My Head.” TheDC will be featuring segments from the interview throughout the week.

“If Jimmy Fallon wanted to speak out against gay marriage, it would affect the bookings of his show dramatically. Or abortion. Or whatever some of the hot topics were,” Carolla said. “Would he still get guests? Yes. Would it affect his bookings? Absolutely. ”

Would NBC allow a vocal social conservative to be the host of “The Tonight Show?”

“He wouldn’t stay on the air because his bookings — his good bookings — would dry up,” Carolla explained. “He would get people like myself on instead and the numbers would go down and then they would pull him off the air. They probably wouldn’t pull him off the air because he took a stance on abortion; they’d pull him off the air because everyone would refuse to go on his show.”

Watch the video to see how Carolla thinks his conservative-leanings have affected his career in Hollywood.
