Bret Baier says he thinks MSNBC has “some interesting shows” but he doesn’t spend much of his time “thinking about them.”

Fox News’ chief political anchor and host of “Special Report” explained his views on the liberal cable network during an extensive interview with The Daily Caller about politics, the media and his new book, “Special Heart: A Journey of Faith, Hope, Courage and Love.”

“I think they, you know, have some interesting shows,” Baier said of MSNBC. “I think Rachel Maddow makes some good points sometimes. And I watch some of those commentaries she makes. But I do look at it not as a news product, but as an editorial, commentary show.”

Asked if he considered MSNBC as a whole a news operation, Baier said, “I don’t spend my time thinking about them.”

“I really don’t,” he continued. “And I have some friends over there — several friends over there who work at NBC and MSNBC. And, you know, I don’t think about how they are doing their cable channel. I think about 6:00 [p.m.] to 7:00 [p.m.] and I’m pretty — have the blinders on, as much as I can.”

TheDC’s will be featuring segments from the interview all this week. See previous segments below:
