Colorado Attorney General To Investigate Planned Parenthood For Possible Child Abuse

The Colorado Attorney General’s office is reviewing undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood staffers advising underage girls on violent sex, the National Catholic Register reports.

The videos, obtained by the Daily Caller in mid-July, show staffers advising investigators posing as 15-year-old girls about sadomasochistic sex practices, how to obtain sex toys while underage, and encouraging them to view pornography without parental knowledge or consent.

The videos are part of an ongoing investigation from pro-life group Live Action, who in June also released a video documenting similar behavior at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Indiana. (RELATED: Planned Parenthood Schools Underage Girls In Violent Sex)

Live Action is concerned that Planned Parenthood is systematically ignoring laws designed to protect minors from sex abuse–and are using taxpayer funds to do it. They received over $500 million in government funds last year, accounting for 45 percent of its annual revenue. “We are the largest provider of sex education in the U.S.,” they boasted in their annual report, “with educators who will reach more than one million young people and adults this year.” (RELATED: Yet Another Planned Parenthood BDSM Video)

“We are relieved to learn that authorities in Colorado are taking these tapes, and their shocking and extremely troubling contents, seriously,” said Live Action’s president Lila Rose. “Parents of every political persuasion can come together and condemn an institutional ethos where sexual abuse of teens is portrayed as consensual sexual activity — where tax-funded counselors can recommend internet pornography and sex shops, and advise children on how to hide these things from their parents.”

Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains is currently being sued for not reporting the rape of a 13-year-old, who was brought in for an abortion in May 2012 by her stepfather, Timothy David Smith.

The suit, filed by the girl’s mother, also accuses the clinic of not having asked the girl how she got pregnant, not verifying what her relationship to Smith was, ignoring the mandatory waiting period, and failing to contact the girl’s mother before performing the abortion.

After the procedure she was sent home with him, where the abuse continued for months, until the girl finally told her mother about it. Smith was convicted and sentenced to prison for sexually abusing his stepdaughter after pleading guilty later that year.

Colorado AG John Suthers told the Register there’s not much he can do even if he does suspect the clinics in the Live Action videos of criminal activity — that falls to Arapahoe County Attorney General George Brauchler. Both clinics Live Action investigated are in the greater Denver metropolitan area.

“I think most people are totally ignorant of what goes on at Planned Parenthood,” Colorado Rep. Doug Lamborn told the Register. “Planned Parenthood and their friends on the left have done a good job of talking about things they do that help women’s health, and it all sounds totally benign and innocent, [as if] it’s all pap smears and mammograms. Most people don’t know about this dark corner of Planned Parenthood.”
