Comedienne Joan Rivers remains in the hospital on life support following a throat procedure gone awry, TMZ reports, and her daugter Melissa Rivers issued a statement Sunday that the family is “keeping our fingers crossed.”

“Thank you for the continued love and support,” the statement read.

Rivers quit breathing and went into cardiac arrest during an endoscopic throat procedure at a clinic Thursday, and was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in New York. The 81-year-old E! News talk show host was then placed in a medically-induced coma. (RELATED: Joan Rivers Quits Breathing)

Afterwards, Melissa Rivers said this in a statement, “I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.”

Melissa did add that her mother’s condition remains serious. TMZ’s sources said the family will decide in the next few days whether Rivers will remain on life support. (RELATED: Joan Rivers Calls Obama ‘Gay,’ Michelle A ‘Tranny’)
