Grimes’ Family Catering Business Has Unpaid Interns

Democratic Kentucky Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes’ family catering business has unpaid interns.

Grimes, who supports a minimum wage hike, is under fire after it was revealed that her family’s “bro”-oriented Kentucky restaurant Hugh Jass Burgers pays its servers minimum wage. But Lundergan Catering, owned by Grimes’ family, including father and political power broker Jerry Lundergan, pays some of its workers nothing at all. (RELATED: Alison Lundergan Grimes Again Dodges Whether She Voted For Obama)

“The Lundergan Group offers internships for currently enrolled college students. These internships are unpaid and can be either part-time or full-time. Interns gain experience and knowledge of the event-planning business,” according to the Lundy’s Catering website(RELATED: Internal Poll: McConnell Up By 8 Points Over Grimes)
